Tranquil Hip Hop Instrumentalists Herajika Tracks create a Rare Album of beats consisting of carefully placed samples and well constructed, thought out song structures. Calm and precise- gently sculpted out of Beautiful, complex piano pieces (Which  one the members Koki plays live, rather than being sampled) complemented with Heavy drums, Flutes, strings, and  Soul crooning Vocals. Instead of dwelling within  the City boundaries like most Hip-Hop, There’s a distinct Sense of Nature on this album- on any given (Herajika) track you can hear a bubbling stream or a wind brushing Chimes into motion and a bird call echoing in the background. Like walking through a lush, secluded Forest, Love Universal wraps around you warmly with their peaceful Methods and approach to Zen-like Hip Hop.

Slouch is another trip-hop artist who has slipped under the radar while artists that are not as good get plenty of attention. This album is definitely a diamond in the rough. I have pretty high standards for trip-hop, and Slouch meets/exceeds these standards. Very recommended for fans of trip-hop.

After two long play albums – “Translations” (2007) and “Unfold” (2008) – HipHop producer Samon Kawamura is back with his “Spur of the Moment” series; a collection of impromptu beats, whose essence lies in their spontaneity. In this series, Kawamura acts on impulse, capturing raw experiences and fleeting moments of inspiration and building beats which embody them; anything from a flash of insight whilst in the studio to encounters whilst travelling the world. In order to preserve these transient moments as quickly as possible Kawamura headed straight to the drawing board and created sounds – “Spur of the Moment” is the result. Unrehearsed and true to Kawamura’s roots. THAIMA is the first instalment of the series; 25 tracks inspired by vintage sounds from Thailand. Simply put, Kawamura has taken classics sounds from Bangkok’s street kitchens and infused them with his own HipHop flavours. Dinner is served.

The well-known Dusted Wax Kingdom artists Jenova 7 and Mr. Moods travelled back in time and brought back the grooviest nuggets from forgotten old dusty jazzy records, coming up with a masterpiece collaboration album. Push the play button,
